Choosing a method for your hair type
Fine, thick, curly or fragile: what changes
No single method suits every client. The right choice depends on the hair in front of you.
Fine hair
Fine hair has less to hold on to. Fitters often choose lighter, smaller pieces and flat, discreet attachments, and avoid anything heavy.
Thick hair
Thicker hair can usually carry more weight and more volume, so wefts and larger sections are options.
Curly and coily hair
Texture matters most here. The extension has to match the curl pattern, or the join will show. Fitters pay extra attention to blending.
Damaged or fragile hair
Hair that is already breaking needs care. An honest fitter may suggest waiting, or choosing a different approach altogether.
Learn it in person
These are broad rules, not instructions. Ask a teacher to show you with real examples. If you are thinking about a Liverpool course, ask which hair types you will work with.
